QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Quality management is a core activity at Bauer-Walser AG.

At all times the quality of the products and resulting satisfaction of customers and suppliers serve as a basis for the work carried out by employees. Up to now and also in future, the management and all employees unconditionally recognise this approach. The requirements defined by standards are implemented and integrated process management systems systematically inspect, monitor and maintain and further develop the quality of the products and services. Quality is not merely a snapshot for us, but is a continuous challenge which our qualified employees and experts rise to every day.

This has resulted in the certification of all the business areas, from the production of precious metal semi‑finished products, recycling of waste materials including precious metals, and trading of precious metals according to the internationally recognised quality management standard DIN EN ISO 9001 in order to ensure the highest quality standard and comprehensive expertise. The dental area of the Bauer-Walser AG is also certified acc. to DIN EN ISO 13485 and Annex II of the EU directive 93/42/EEC.

All the products of Bauer-Walser AG are inspected and analysed in our own testing laboratory according to various criteria – your guarantee for quality control and tested reliability.

Environmental protection and occupational safety

Environmental protection

Depending on the respective range of products and specific production conditions, all companies have an impact on the environment in different ways. Bauer-Walser AG as a modern company in the field of precious metals is aware of this responsibility and implements environmental laws in order to realise definite measures to limit the spread of harmful substances and use resources in a sustainable manner. Our process techniques allow us to have an efficient and economic process with precious metals in compliance with the environmental protection regulations. The Bauer-Walser AG also takes on responsibility with regard to the conservation of the natural resources of our planet.

As environmental protection always revolves around the conservation of resources and the minimisation of harmful substances, this already starts with the smallest of details. In this respect, the aim of Bauer-Walser AG is to adequately implement these principles with all their complexity in the daily work of the company. This is because an environmentally friendly company policy represents a contribution to securing the future of the environment and companies.

The company has for some time operated a photovoltaic plant with 355 solar modules with a rated output of 82.5 kWp. In addition, a heat recovery system is used to recover heat generated by ashing furnaces and the compressed air compressor and the recovered heat is used for heating system water and utility water.

The subject of regenerative energy is also further developed and extended in the company Bauer‑Walser. In cooperation with the Businessbike leasing organisation, employees are offered the possibility  to lease a bicycle. The company has already ordered 40 bicycles on the basis of leasing contracts and given employees the opportunity to travel to work more often by bicycle instead of using the motor car to make a valuable contribution towards environmental protection.

In order to further expand the area of regenerative energy and also in connection with the planned energy management certification of the company according to ISO 50001, the company has decided that after the leasing contracts for the company fleet of vehicles have expired in future the company will focus on electric mobility. Accordingly, the first electric car has already been ordered. This naturally requires the development and planning of charging infrastructure with 4 charge points, charging boxes, and distributors, etc. In order to continue ideal coverage of our energy requirement, there are plans to expand the photovoltaic plant to 450 m² of module surface area. These measures are relevant for environmental considerations  and also with regard to economic efficiency as it is reasonable to assume that the tax burden on conventional forms of energy or CO2 will continue to increase.

This will enable Bauer-Walser AG to charge its electric vehicles directly using its own solar energy generated on-site. The advantage is that a single standard solar module usually already produces enough power for approximately 1000 km of driving. But in addition, inner city areas will be subject to considerably less air pollution with electric cars as there are no exhaust emissions (e.g. CO2, NOx). Furthermore, tyre and brake abrasion is significantly less than with conventional combustion engines which is another clear advantage. The braking energy is used to charge the battery to a certain extent. This preserves the brakes on the electric vehicle and leads to less wear.

Occupational safety

As a business enterprise Bauer-Walser AG is responsible for the safety and health of its employees and must protect them effectively against dangers and health hazards. The basis for a functioning employment system is the establishment and maintenance of safe working conditions which observe human rights. Efficient worker protection and effective accident prevention are particularly important for this, especially with regard to the challenges of the current digital transformation resulting in an ever quicker and more demanding working world. Bauer-Walser AG is obliged to assess dangers to health at the workplace and to decide on necessary protective measures. The efficient integration of occupational and health protection in the structures and procedures enables the company to achieve a functioning industrial safety organisation. The company instructs the employees on safety and health protection at the workplace and takes precautions in particularly dangerous working areas and workplaces and is responsible for the technical safety of devices, products and systems which are made available on the market.
